@Atlas_Khan For the record, I'm overweight.

And I agree with you. I'm fat because I'm lazy. I don't have any excuses.

@Atlas_Khan He's overweight enough he needs to worry about covid. 😂

@stephanlivera I'm an Australian citizen, and I think there's a very good chance I never set foot on Australian soil again. The culture is authoritarian enough to lockdown their borders forever.

Remember that there's a good chance that reopening not only results in a surge of covid-19 cases. But also other diseases, like flu.

Worth a read; h/t @belcher

coindesk.com/bitcoin-gold-stay

this is an oft-discussed scenario, I tend to think it will be a less significant effect than portrayed in this article; I am probably influenced by the history of bitcoin; I haven't seen evidence that prices are ever lower outside centralized exchanges (the opposite?), seems mostly surmise, not data.

The author may be under-stating the importance of the perfect verifiability (and doesn't understand intrinsic fungibility).

The ACLU is suing to prevent a private citizen from accessing public records from the Washington State Department of Corrections.

Guys the ACLU done FUCKED UP

The ACLU has filed a lawsuit to prevent a private citizen from receiving public records from the Washington State Department of Corrections on the number of inmates in state custody who identify as transgender and the number of male inmates who are housed in women’s facilities.

Somehow the ACLU has stuck with their values enough to support even free speech for Nazis (while condemning it, of course), and yet transgender issues is the thing that makes them falter. Do you see the undue power this issue has?? Its chokehold on society?

This is truly insane. I can hardly believe it’s real.

In a twist of irony, our client actually used resources provided on the ACLU’s website to draft the public records request which they are now seeking to squash.

Lmao… this is so painfully hypocritical.

ICU/hospital utilization in Toronto is *lower* than normal right now.

Yes, lower.

"I got the feeling very early on that many health professionals were using COVID to fight a proxy war against what they see as a chronically underfunded health care system."

He's right. Unfortunately, using tactics like that is unbelievably dishonest. I think you can make a good argument it should be criminal fraud.

@alex If I were 70, I'd still take it. But at 36, I'm refusing to take any of these vaccines out of principal: forcing 100% of the population to take emergency use authorization vaccines with just a few months of testing data is absurd and dangerous even ignoring human rights and bodily autonomy. The medical community pushing for that aren't just evil, they're really stupid too.

Purely from a "don't put all your eggs in one basket" point of view 50% uptake makes much more sense.

@alex For Astra Zeneca, this study found a 1 in 40,000 chance of death in their particular demographic: nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJM

@adam @Johncdvorak Please review the attached image. I hassled health Canada to the point they FINALLY responded.

These motherfuckers are using 40-45 cycles.

@alex We know _at least_ six people got blood clots. With Astra Zeneca it didn't take long to find many more examples. Equally, initial reports were about how fewer than expected numbers of blood clots were happening, which is just lol - clear sign of under reporting.

Anyway, one in a million is already more dangerous than covid to healthy children. So right there you have at least one demographic where the cost/benefit analysis doesn't make sense.

@temujin_HF @adam @Johncdvorak can you repost that somewhere? The image is almost unreadable.

@sebx2a @pox @verretor There are literal cash incentives for covid patients too. Big money to be made in outbreaks.

@sebx2a @pox @verretor I think claims of ICUs and hospitals being overloaded have become a labor action in disguise. They're always busy.
