@qXpx7MiY I can assure you the XL in that department is nothing to be proud of... 😂

Danish study finding that Long-Term Care Facility residents temporarily had a 40% _higher_ rate of infection after the first dose, with the 95% CI ruling out any 1st dose benefit at all. Same as the UK and Israel have found.

A week after second dose, overall effectiveness in LTCF residents was just 64%

Sounds like the failure of the flu vaccine all over again...

So here's some post-mortem, I think an event like this needs some examination.

First, huge thanks to @undeath for not only reading his logs, but actually switching his brain on and noticing this; as he expressed himself, it's pretty surprising that no one else noticed since it went into a release in August last year.

Second, a big apology from me for introducing the bug. I guess I'll start by explaining what I remember about that code edit.

Just released 0.8.2 of Joinmarket. This is to be considered an urgent privacy bugfix for takers; see the release notes for details:

I'll write more about this bug and what happened, shortly.

The metal hang tab from some Arc'teryx underwear that I got recently. Obviously they're trying to avoid plastic packaging. But I find it hard to believe that this big, chrome plated, chunk of metal is better for the environment than a piece of plastic. Or better yet, a cardboard hang tab.

Just virtue signaling.

Funny thing is when Matthew Green's colleague Isis Lovecruft falsely accused me of sexual assault, having Google Maps location data really helped me defend myself.

But double-edged sword: if the government was after me, it would have let them come up with a better lie.

@livestradamus That's not fair though. You're son is in elementary school; Coppola is a mere journalist.

From a *strategic* point of view, suspended sentences are probably correct for the daughter and even father. Depends on how exactly she wound up admitted to lying about it. You want to ensure people are willing to come forward and admit the truth.

"The 13-year-old student who claimed that her teacher showed Muslim students a naked depiction of the prophet Muhammad has admitted that she was lying. This lie led to the beheading of that teacher."

"Her father has now been arrested for "complicity in a terrorist killing." Prosecutors say that the father's actions had a direct "casual link" to the teacher's death.

The 13-year-old faces slander charges."

Charges are probably justified here, for both of them.

@lain @alex oh, though with 2 million tons, they probably want it for something in bulk.

@lain @alex You know, we've had processes to manufacture high quality artificial quartz since the 70's. Pretty much all technical uses of quartz, including oscillators, use lab grown stuff.

Same with ruby and sapphire. Heck, tons of places will sell you big sheets of the stuff: uqgoptics.com/catalogue/optica

Air is really useful. But it's also essentially worthless because we have so much of it...

@NunyaBidness The utter lack of common sense cryptography in 2021 strikes again.

PGP solved this decades ago.

@nvk "Private and compliant: While not aiming for cash-like anonymity, CBDC should be highly private yet meet the obligation to be compliant with anti-money laundering, know your customer, counter terrorist financing and other regulations"

It'll be interesting to see what "highly private" solution they come up with... Likely one that gives full data to the government, and then claims that's "private".

Does Ontario Premier Doug Ford's family business, Deco Labels, profiting off COVID-19 signage create a conflict of interest? They threaten the guy even though there is no voter fraud right?
The daughter's boyfriend of the Georgia Governor's car exploded after he was going to do a complete forensic audit of the vote.

In the words of Monty Python don't be so sentimental mother things explode everyday.
That's right cars just explode hurling the engine many feet away.

#cultleft is covering this up along with the rest of the establishment.
Cultleft enjoys throwing arround conspracy theory at everyone who disagrees with them.
The conspiracy theory is accepting the media establishment version which is a lie.

TIL there exists a French tax code to C compiler. It's a serious project.

I think that settles the code as documentation argument. But I'm not sure in what direction...
