“Prepare our weapons, and then go get’em. Lets hunt these cowards down like the Traitors that each of them are”

The face of the <checks notes> right-wing white supremacy movement.

time to rise up, disobey. Open your business, if you don't have business, don't use mask, don't social distance

#ioapro ("I open") is the hashtag on twitter

Telegram @ioapro

Stasera tutti a cena fuori e pagare cash

"Tonight everybody out for dinner and pay by cash"

Every region in Italy has a telegram group to coordinate the disobedience

This is beatiful

@MichaJ Like it or not scaling up a brand new production process from nearly-zero to literally attempting to supply the entire world in a matter of months is risky.

@alex Relevant: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen

Hydrogen-filled hard drives would work even better, as hydrogen has half the viscosity of helium. But I'm sure you can think of some challenges to using it... 🔥

Parler has a static status page up. Not the whole site. And the page resolves to an IP address in Belize. Last I checked, that's in South America.

If in 2021 you still think that "A single bitcoin transaction alone consumes 621 KWh", you should probably focus your attention on things you understand, because you clearly don't understand how Bitcoin work.

@michaelfolkson @protonmail FWIW while not as easy as just getting protonmail, self hosting email is still quite doable. I personally use authsmtp for delivery to ensure there's no spam filter issues. Though I've also recently setup an email with direct delivery on an amazon vps, and had no issues sending email to Gmail at least. I did have dkim etc. all setup.

For anyone unconvinced that twitter is algorithmically flagging keywords. They don’t even use a fancy AI. They look for substrings.

"In the Asian Flu of 1957-58, They Rejected Lockdowns"

Good article comparing the radically different approach taken to the asian flu than covid, even though the Asian flu was significantly more deadly.

"Newspapers barely covered it and most people did not notice it."

Published in nature: Bitcoin emissions alone could push global warming above 2°C. -->>

It is an embarrassment that this was published! They scaled energy with number of transactions: "At each time step, CO2 emissions for the given number of transactions were estimated based on the emissions generated to mine that number of transactions in 2017."

Bitcoin network does not work that way. Energy is spent securing the blockchain, not per transaction.

@esixtyone @sebx2a I was thinking of angular rigidity actually, which is worse in a typical moving gantry. But thinking about it more, it's quite hard to do an apples-to-apples comparison, because there are so many different possible design goals... so I'm not going to claim I'm right. :P

One of the dangers of being willing to talk to police, for any reason: they might not be police.

@lucash_dev @bryancyan @Genericblog As others' mentioned, the most likely explanation is snitches.

Maybe I'll hook it up to an accurate user count bot at some point, but anyway: There are 2,728 Mastodon servers online today and on them, there are 252,893 monthly active users, a number that increased by 45,517 since Jan 11th.

@Seccour @bitcoineagle @giacomozucco @jhamel 😂😂😂😂

It was announced in May 2020! That was fast. Figures it's a Michael Bay movie...

@pete @bryancyan @Genericblog Not only that, but even closed groups were getting the e-mail notice that they need to leave. With open groups like DD it's obvious what's going on because anyone can join and see. But somehow they saw what's happening in a few closed groups. Could be that someone in them snitched, but it's still concerning.

@sebx2a @esixtyone IIUC the big problems with a moving gantry design is: 1) The lack of rigidity stacks up. So movement in the outermost axis allows the next axis to move, and so on. 2) If the gantry is moving you have to trade off rigidity/weight and speed/power requirements.
