Always astound me people talking about “zero waste” and then sending their plastics far away for “recycling”

Best thing you can do to prevent trash in the wild is to build good landfills close enough you can regularly inspect them.

Then use the landfills instead of obsessing with recycling and banning things.

Reusable packaging is good too.

Banning straws or paying someone to take your trash far away and then tell you it was all recycled is fiat environmentalism.

@lucash_dev Agree. But better to build incinerators than just landfill it. In particular we really shouldn't be leaving "forever chemicals" in the ground that may cause problems for future generations; incinerators turn them into pretty harmless flourine minerals.
