Weird to see an attempt at a bit of, like, actual science rather than virtue signaling.

@stevenroose Actually no. Pre-covid that style of mask was avoided as they're too hard to breathe in. That was well accepted until mask wearing became political.
Heck, surgeons were even wearing no masks at all at many hospitals because there just isn't good evidence they make a difference to infection control in many situations.

...though even more awful to wear than normal... Huge amount of dead space trapping CO2; kinda scary that the pilots are wearing this nonsense.
Funny enough, not all the flight attendants are. Some have simple cloth masks.
