Disinformation used to be about earning trust by telling verifiable truth often, then abusing that trust to spread lies rarely — but still have some kernel of truth even in the lies. That way trust was never completely lost and the channel could be used again.

But these days the vehicles of disinformation lie so obviously about so many things, every single day, it’s amazing how people can still trust them about anything.
