@pete frankly, this article and the graph are weird. I didn't see any data in the original article which would produce this graph, curves should deviate more based on 84% efficacy. Choosing weird y-axis scaling 0.75-1.00 for numbers in the range of 0.99 and then saying it would look even worse if the scale was 0.0-1.0? Just kindergarten stuff...

Also their cost estimation is weird. 80% efficacy in reducing baseline 1% mortality means about 120 vaccinations would save one life, cost 120*$40~$500
