Hypothetically if we wanted to make Bitcoin Mastodon a thing, what would it take? Do we have to make Bitcoin Mastodon content more appealing than Bitcoin Twitter?

Any ideas on how this would happen?

@stephanlivera Step 1: Don't call it Mastodon. Here on the fediverse, we have many interoperable server implementations. Call it fediverse, fedi, or open social web.
Step 2: Stop posting to birdsite. Exceptions allowed. But feeding it all your content is what keeps people there. Weak posting hands are weak.

@raucao Ok fair enough I'll call it fediverse.

But asking me to not post to twitter is a pretty big ask, podcasts live and die by audience and reach...

@stephanlivera @raucao i think that's unreasonable to ask, just posting here *as well* would help 😀

@orionwl @stephanlivera @raucao Note how I made it impossible to reply to this tweet: twitter.com/peterktodd/status/

I get that it's hard to switch. But it definitely is best if a significant number of people stick to it. Network effects matter a lot.

@pete @orionwl @stephanlivera @raucao posting a fediverse thread on Twitter and disallowing engagement is appealing to entice the normies to come over.

Like, do this with triggering @mir_btc id probably click to join if I saw that 🤣

@tzlo @orionwl @stephanlivera @raucao @mir_btc I'm thinking of blocking replies, and then having a link to a mastodon copy as "for further discussion"

@tzlo @orionwl @stephanlivera @raucao @mir_btc of course, wait till the mastodon version actually gets some discussion. 😂
