@Raynbo What kind of morons would build this type of service on top of AWS today? Like ... I would be able to see this coming 6 months away. Fucking amateurs.
@pete@Raynbo It's faster for sure. It's easier to setup RDS than hire people who know how to manage a database. But RDS is also crazy expensive, and those costs begin to flip easily within a few months.
@djsumdog @Raynbo@rayn.bo From the sounds of it they were using amazon for VMs only, not amazon services. Though even then, the ability to scale up dramatically is a huge help. Hard to do that without Amazon.
