@Clashicly @nvk Yup. If spam from new accounts was an issue invite-only/request-to-join is a perfectly good option. Can probably automate it eventually with a LN payment.
@pete @Clashicly @nvk not to mention, it would self select based on competency and willingness to use LN. Provided the forum actually created a net value it would persist.
@Clashicly @pete @nvk Right now users are coming to bitcoinhackers to sign up. they need to be pointed to the next server to keep from losing them. That server takes on the next 5000. Then repeat to the next. Then a centralized list of usernames to follow.
@pete @Clashicly @nvk this would actually be a great use case for LN. The payments can fund the maintenance of the instance. I’m definitely down for paying to help support the community discussion. Would best set it up as a 501.3(c) if creating a US entity.
A crazier option would be to set it up in an independent legal jurisdiction, e.g. the “citadel” I helped start in Honduras, Ciudad de Orquídeas.
