I am assuming that after The Capital was broken into, 3 letter agencies contacted tech platforms and did a little persuasion.

Twitter, Facebook, no big surprise.

To me, the big surprise on this was AWS taking down Parler. I don't host anything there, but I wasn't aware that a web site on AWS has to have to have moderation.

To the extent that any crypto relies on AWS it is apparent now the weakness.

Tech not politics please. What can we learn from this?

@alanturing That we need low bandwidth, latency tolerate, protocols that don't care if any particular computer is down. Unfortunately that's not easy to achieve.

@alanturing Scuttlebutt is one. I honestly don't know much about matrix, so I can't really comment on it.
